The likes of Don Moen and other church songs... Mostly from the cassettes owned by my mother...<br /><br />As I was in 5th grade.. I was in search for a new sound... Something new.. Something radical...<br />( again?! )<br /><br /> As far as I can remember... I went with my "ate" Christy one humid afternoon to go get some stuffs in the nearest mall... Then I went to a certain record bar... Browse for something interesting..<br /><br />And so, I picked up one cassette tape with a very uncanny album art...<br /><br /> very weird indeed... As the album goes, "Chocolate Starfish and A Hotdog Flavored Water"...<br /><br />I borrowed some money from my "ate"... Then poof! I had my very first record... And the very first band I knew, Limp Bizkit... ( one from the Nu Metal Genre )<br /><br />I was very excited going home...<br /><br />Upon entering the door... I went straight to our component, place the cassette, play....<br /><br /> Fresher sound at last! A bit heavier and faster than the songs I used to listen to as I develop...<br /><br />I kept on listening to this new sound for days, weeks and months... I memorized each and every single song in the record...<br /><br />I even bought all the albums they released... My very first collection....<br /><br /> But...<br /><br />As always.. I was in search for something new... Something radical...<br /><br />I tried listening to different Filipino bands... Until I heard this particular song... Titled "Agent Orange" ( from Slapshock man! )<br /><br />Damn! I just can't get enough of it... And so, (again?!) I bought one of their records entitled "Headtrip"...<br /><br /> A headtrip it was.. Really! Songs were harsher... Guitars more distorted... and some of the vocal parts are growled...<br /><br />Again, I bought all their albums... My 2nd collection...<br /><br /> As I entered the high school... My musical influences became more massive, thicker, badder, more contorted...<br /><br />The 9-piece hard rock band Slipknot entered the picture... ( thanks to Mr. Andrew Perez! )<br /><br /> Very supernatural music... Growls, cries and screams comprises their songs... Fucking infernal!<br /><br /> I became interested in guitars... ( a hard rocker was my dream )<br /><br />Not until my cousin Butch introduced Metallica... GODDAMN METAL!<br /><br /> Heavier but slower guitar distortions, wahs ( as in the wah-wah sounds in Metal songs ), great guitar solos and the likes... A natural high it was...<br /><br /> I became a fan of Metal in an instant... A lot different from hard rock...<br /><br />I continued listening and exploring the metal genre for years....<br /><br /> New people, bands, faces, voices popped out...<br /><br />Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses, Randy Rhoads, Ozzy Osbourne, Dream Theatre, Pantera, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Soulfly, Coal Chamber and the likes...<br /><br /> They are the reasons why I play my guitars and eventually entered the world of a musician...<br /><br />As I again, continued an unending journey... An occult sub-genre of metal knocked on my world... Black and Death Metal...<br /><br /> Wicked, Black and Satanic it is... Fucking awesome!<br /><br />Bands like Deicide, Nile, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, The Amenta and the likes makes you wanna worship the devil for some reason...<br /><br /> Unknown and Awful to many... Death Metal is an underground movement because of its nature... But once in your head.. it'll never get out.. for sure!<br /><br />As my ears awakened the "metalhead" in me... It bloomed rage in my heart in my mind and heart... Angers were relieved, stress lessened and made me more comfortable...<br /><br />Until now, whenever I am facing problems... Only double peds, distortions and growls accompany me... At last!<br /><br />After 3 or 4 months! I've made my 2nd blog ever.... haha!<br /><br />Well... My first blog ever was on Friendster... Mostly filled w/ lyrics of songs that best described my feelings back then...<br /><br />then suddenly I stopped.. Got tired of the same things I've been doing.. Everyday...<br /><br />It counted almost 3 weeks.. more or less...<br /><br />Then I found another interesting stuff on the net..<br /><br />Answering questionnaires/surveys posted on Friendster's bulletin board...<br /><br />It was really fun answering those poppycocks... It lasted for almos 2 months.. If I could remember well...<br /><br />It was really cool.. and my friends went "Hey Bhenmar! All we can see in our bulletins is your face!" and went laughing out loud...<br /><br />It really filled me in during boredom...<br /><br />But then ... I wanted something new again...<br /><br />There I decided to play flash games (for free) over the web.. It was nice and fun at first.. of course...<br /><br />But playing the same games over and over again.. Damn! It was so nauseating...<br /><br />Again, there I was.. Searching for a new avocation....<br /><br />And there came BLOGGING...<br /><br />I was a bit interested in trying the said hooey...<br /><br />And eventually, the involvement grew bigger everyday...<br /><br /> Until...<br /><br />I got an inspiration..<br /><br />From our Argumentation and Debate professor...<br /><br /> I came home rushing... Filled with ideas on how my blog will be...<br /><br />Thoughts keep poppin on my mind...
